GLOBAL SOCIAL VENTURE COMPETITION
INTRODUCTION
The Global Social Venture Competition began in 1999 as a student-led initiative at the Haas School of Business in California, USA. In July 2005, the Indian School of Business was invited as an affiliate. In January 2006, the first Asia Semi-final round was held at the Indian School of Business. This unprecedented partnership brought together the academic and financial worlds to support the creation of sustainable social ventures. Apart from ISB other partners for this event included the Haas School of Business, London Business School, Columbia Business School, Yale School of Management.
Global Social Venture Competition is a business plan competition whose mission is to promote entrepreneurial businesses that satisfy two criteria:
- They have clear and quantifiable social objectives
- They are financially sustainable, in the sense that they are profitable or self-supporting through revenue generation
CHALLENGE
To manage
- Almost 200 emails in a short span of approximately 5 minutes. These emails included the Business Plans sent by the participants till the due date of the event.
- To avoid the use of inline commands which could lead to some discrepancies when the plans were sent by the participants using Emails.
SOLUTIONS
- Using tBits, the Business Plans sent by the participants could be saved in an inbox from where they were easily retrieved. This saved both time and the required space for storage.
- An Online Form was made available through tBits which could be used by the participants to send their Business Plans in a standard format.
